Brief

Matteo wanted a website for people to see what Higher Farm is and what facilities there are going to be there. Since the farm will not be open until late 2025, the main functionality of the website will be for people to enquire about jobs on the farm and spaces at the artisan hub.

Ideation

Site Visit

We all did a site visit to get a feel for the farm before we started anything. I also took some photos for the website, though we had to come back another day to get the one we ended up using for the homepage as it was a rather gloomy day.

Design Style

Because the farm and its facilities would not be operational until 2025 and no 3D architectural designs had been drawn up yet, the website was going to be both thin on functionality and content.

To get around this problem we likened the website to a sort of ‘teaser’ for an upcoming video game or film; make it as immersive as possible with imagery of the farm and hand drawn illustrations of what farm’s facilities would look like.
